Marsha Bothma, journalist, singer/songwriter, recording artist, and ATKV-Crescendo finalist in 2022, has been singing since she was eight years old. At the age of twelve, she tried her hand at songwriting for the first time. This love for music was the first step toward ultimately being selected as a participant in the ATKV-Crescendo Mentorship Programme in 2022. This year, she is one of the mentors in this project.

 

The music that flows from her pen reflects her love for R&B, Afrikaans, gospel, pop, and house, to name just a few. Through her compositions, she is able to create a fun yet introspective style about anything close to her heart. As a performing artist, she is known for her soothing voice and vibrant energy during her performances, which helps her connect directly with the audience.

 

In March 2024, she released her debut album Gereed. Vlam in my hart and Hy lig my op were released as music videos on various streaming platforms. Her husband, Adrian, can be heard with her on Lief vir jou. One of the songs that can be heard on the album is the Christa Steyn hit Ek wil vir jou, which she recorded with former Crescendo winner Anna Davel.

 

Marsha’s song Stronger reached the number 1 position on Heart FM Top 10 and Radio Awakening. Furthermore, she can boast that this song was played on more than fourty local and international radio stations.
